Itt is an Incompetent nursing school

I started this school sept. 2013 so excited about finally fulfilling my dream. what a disaster, as the first poster said, they just let everyone in giving false hope. ITT now has started giving test on a computer and no one can pass it, I quit after a majority of the students failed med surg two times. Now Itt is "giving points" back test takers and miraculously they are passing the class. The state of IN has stepped in and put all ITT on probationary because of the pass rate. Itt was the worse decision I could have made going there.

I am in the nursing program as well, or atleast was. I failed one class by half a point, and stated that some students that passed were given points to push them through.

The same this time around. I am out 24 thousand dollars and for nothing.

I am owed money by the company for items not delivered. 500 for a lab kit, which I never received, and numerous books i did not receive.

Harassing Phone Calls

These people have been calling my home phone incessantly for more than 8 months looking for someone named Kevin Bruce. I did a little digging and found someone by that name in the city where they have a campus and are calling me from. Calls have been coming in regularly at least 2-3 times a week at all hours. Each time the caller is told no one by that name has ever lived at this address, they apologize and state that they will notate it so we don;t receive another call. Out and out lies. I really teed off on the gal this last time because they always say, "Well I have never called you." To make matters worse, there is no vehicle in place to contact the school and report this. The only contact forms are for people applying to go there. Has anyone else experienced this? I am getting ready to contact my state Rep about having their license pulled. enough is enough.

ITT Tech and talks of class action lawsuit

Has this actually made any progress or still in limbo unlikely to ever progress? ***Anything posted may or may not be true and is assumed theoretical and the use of "I" does not necessarily represent the poster. Any information posted is assumed for educational purposes and awareness and not meant to represent factual events or to be taken as legal advice. Only if you agree to these terms in their entirety read on otherwise please disregard this comment. Reading beyond this point is an assumed agreement to the above terms*** If the current efforts have failed due to a lack of resources such as access to legal council of Attorney's knowledgeable in this subject area and a personal educational knowledge of law, FASFA, how funding processes work, and having clear examples that a Judge won't pass a motion for dismissal on out the gate then I maybe of some assistance if you care to read a theoretical thought on how to approach this with an example or 2 that may help and educate some individuals on things that would be needed to have a chance at success. Lets say the example is from the Chicago area and if you have detailed information do not continue to post it publicly as this is a basic example that may or may not be factual, but is not meant to represent any true statements. And you would not want to disclose information to the defense publically. Rather this is all a theoretical example and just an opinion on how to approach it not to be mistaken as legal advice or counsel as I am not an attorney and advise if you are taking this seriously to speak with your attorney or hire one 1st as if this were to go class action I wouldn't want to reveal everything to the defense on a public site allowing a corporation to prepare a defense, destroy/distort/lose, evidence, or contact past employee's that could be subpoenaed to testify in a court of law, but get tricked into some past bonus payment under the terms they sign a document that ends up being a nondisclosure agreement. This fictional post may or may not mean that we have some/all of the above already, if I were the type to very skeptical and learned early in life about keeping any contracts/documents that are considered important, but to make it a class action others would need the info as well. If there are several similar cases already gathered along with information of the specific programs that you were enrolled in aligning with programs of other students and these cases that would be used as evidence belonging to students that have exceptional character, prior GPA's, and successful track records in their career prior to attendance then there is a potential for Civil Cases possibly starting with a specific state if the resources are scattered until further publicity and evidence is obtained from publicity and other students coming forward who had not considered litigation to the point of researching it this could be feasible. Read on or contact me with an organized detail of the obtained information thus far as I may have the aptitude to determine further if this is worth presenting to friends in the legal profession and able to take it to the next level and put the case in the right department of a more than capable firm and with myself and another witness that would fit the bill initially for the state of IL specifically in the AS Computer Networking program as we both were in different years of the program and connected years later to both find out the same issues were encountered, the school itself doesn't even exist now, we also came from the same small hometown and the recruiter's name I still remember who was also related to friends in our town and lived there as well. I have detailed accounts and motives why the program/school failed to educate classes to the point that our final class for graduation students were unable to erase floppy disks and allowed to run to the store and purchase new ones for a file transfer and somehow passed with a degree! The motivations for the school were to move at a pace that wouldn't drop the majority of students as they were given full financial aid due to income and demographic factors which had the teacher been allowed to fail students and maintain a standard requirement for the students to pass the majority of guaranteed funding from the government money would have been taken away as the students would have lost the grants and the school would have had to gamble on the profits of paying or students getting loans to not continue dropping ITT entirely like 30% did by the end of 3 semesters knowing they wasted their money whereas someone like myself already in IT out of HS which I graduated with a 4.0 GPA and no issues with University acceptance and ended at ITT last minute and was definitely sold on a bunch of lies that I went with the career and classes at night while running a startup and felt after 10k already spent knowing the credits were *** after checking about transfers that I was better off just getting a piece of paper i.e. degree and being done with it since the staff let me come in for midterms and pre-take the final to catch their errors as it was a fairly new program. Fortunately my parents took my degree out of the garbage when I got it, but otherwise that's what I felt it was worth asides from 1 class, plus I tested out of the GE classes. Furthermore they had to pass the class a year ahead of ours before CNS would become an AS degree instead of a certificate program motivating them to push group 1 through along with not letting classes fail students that were being paid for and had to maintain grades to keep the full grants ultimately punishing the few who were there to learn and unfortunate enough to have to pay for the program themselves. It also helps our school doesn't even exists anymore, yet I was told we could go back and take any courses again if we ever needed updated training, which resurfaced my curiosity into this after not even being able to get transcripts to see if any credits would count towards starting over to obtain a MBA or Law degree when I noticed it was an absurd amount for the BS degree nearly 80k now I believe. The largest obstacle and opportunity would be if collectively we can come up with the original papers signed and information given when first "applying" and/or getting the names of your recruiters and classmates if you know for certain an above scenario applied in your situation as well with the funding and/or a majority percentage of your classmates could all testify to the same lack of education as I am willing to wager this would fall specific to certain programs, schools, and time ranges rather than universally as the programs developed, new legislation, and disclosures have hit their current system as a for profit school. This was all over the place intentionally from rearrangement and not wanting to go back and organize a fictional example that may not amount to anything. I am a ITT alumni. First of all let me start by saying this school is my biggest regret..

These people that sign you up are not enrollment counselor. They are predatory salesman taking advantage of any opportunity they can to boos their wallets.. I can not establish any type of credit and this school has re arranged my whole way of living. Buy a house is out the question..

I have a 2 year degree at which will now cost me 112k. I received the drafting degree. and the jobs at best were paying 15 bucks and hour for a drafting position..I had to remain in the same construction job which was the reason why I went back to school.. I would like to start a movement to shut this school down they will drive the economy down.

they prey on young gullible kids fresh out of high school such as myself. who haven't got the chance to wise up and mature a little to make a good financial decision.. Please Let's stop these people from damaging our future and some one else's future of the american dream.

B.A from ITT technical institute is worthless in the professional world

Dont waste your time getting a B.A. from this for profit school. The truth is no one takes you seriously when you have a degree from this place. If your going to go into debt then put in the time and the work and go to a reputable university. I wish someone told me what im telling you prior to going 50k+ into debt. Now I live check to check while paying off the student loan. If your a young person and your trying to figure out where to go to school stick to the reputable schools and put in the work. The I.T.T diploma mill is a SCAM.

Sad when you know more than the professors.

I went to ITT Tech. It was basically worthless. I had 1 professor for like 3 different classes for 1 year, whom knew his ***, but then budget cuts, and he went to another place. Other than that it was hit or miss. It was "Hey Student you seem to know this ***, you teach.." The BA degree is a joke, because whom really takes you seriously with a degree from this place? The cost is insane, and you would learn more from any community college, since they don't teach any other gear besides Cisco. If you are going to be different. BE DIFFERENT, teach Juniper/Force10/BTI/Ciena or maybe throw in some VOIP?

Money and Reputation

First, I am 21 and was looking for a college. I went to ITT signed up to their roster, and was scheduled to come back next week to discuss financial aid. Asking simple questions, like what % of your graduates have found jobs?, kept using words like "few". They were genuinely suprised someone was asking questions, just basic things. Giving a tour of their "High-Tech" computer lab, which was a bunch of cheap desktops.. I don't just mean not high end.. these were literally Dell computers from 2002, with monitors worth less than 20 dollars each. Now I know you are probably thinking "Well it was probably the programs on them that are high-tech" No. Just no. All 2 of the people in their 3 computer labs looked desperate and sad. Didn't get the chance to talk with them but wish I did. I went to talk with the instructors, and asked a demonstration of software design, they each had a masters in it afterall. The only thing they could show me was a flow chart stating the name of each class. Which was already on a paper that they had given me. Well one day before I was supposed to come back to discuss financial aid, I had looked at some reviews, asked around and decided it would be a poor use of my money. So I called them up to say I would not be attending, but would still come the next day just to say in person. They actually got pissed off at me saying not to come because I would just take the "hard work" their financial division worked for and take it somewhere else. And was told to send in a formal email stating I would not attend. In this 4 sentence email I stated multiple times I would like my information stricken from the record, as well as confirmation that this was done. The reply I got was a 2 paragraph wall of text stating their disbelief that I was given false information, and that they were actually on the level. Not a single mention of anything besides their reputation or money seemed to matter to them. To anyone checking that school out, ask them about their reputation... then an hour later when they finish, ask them about finding a job with the degree, and after you get the runaround, ask them about the prices (No doubt they already told you). Beware of trigger words "Few" "High-Tech" "I was like you" "Wouldn't be here today" "You are smart" "I would do it"

ITT Tech is nothing more than a high-priced diploma mill

I am a current Bachelors student at ITT Tech, and am completely unsatisfied with the level of education here. I have noticed that they allow students that should never have graduated high school, much less college. I expected there to be much more hands-on learning for a technical school, but so far, I have only learned theory. what few hands-on labs we have had, the lab manuals were worthless, or the instructor made their own lab up. It makes matters worse, that the instructor staff most often does not know what they are teaching. As a veteran, I have to complete this quarter before I can drop this school and transfer to a real school with a much more competent staff. It is sad when the only jobs that the career services people can get you are call center jobs answering phone calls, and NOT doing any actual computer work.

Based on my experience with ITT Tech, your assessment of the school is completely accurate. Do you realize that your credits are unlikely to transfer to another school?

A different for-profit college such as DeVry may accept them, but all for-profit colleges have similar characteristics.

If you have plans to switch to a non-profit public or private college or university, you have nothing to gain by sticking out the quarter. Best to cut your losses and get out now.

Unprofessional and Unprepared

I wanted get B.S. in Electronic Engineering so I took a tour at its Orlando, fl campus. It looked great as far as the technology and the staff was ok. Once I decided to sign up a semester sent my file over to their Lake Mary, fl site. Once I got all of my paperwork setup (transcripts) they sent me an e-mail to come the orientation to the rest of the staff, instructors, and career adviser. A few days later I showed up to start classes and found that didn't take any of 68 college credits and signed me up for all the classes that I had already taken. When went to talk the staff about it they said I would have take up with dean. I was taking night classes and working during the day and couldn't get him on the phone or email. They also told that I had to show to classes or I would be drop from the course. When I finally talk to the Dean he said that the courses had already started and to just finish them and we could take care of it next session. I said ok. I finished that session and went back for next Session only to find out they only had enough Instructors teach classes for beginners. It wouldn't have been so bad if the instructors they had teacher didn't know the material and making *** as she went and if someone had a question about anything she would tell the class to answer the question. She wasn't the sharpest. You don't expect a plastic surgeon to do a heart transplant would you? This just one of the many things that's very wrong with the location where I tried to attend. I heard their commercials and was duped. So don't believe what you see on Television or hear on the radio. It's real riiiippppp OOOFFF!!!!

I love going to school at ITT. I think maybe you should focus more on using the degree they provide, and find a job rather than complain to the whole world about how it didn't work for you.

I understand you are frustrated but it isn't the schools fault. Maybe it is yours.

Virtual Labs Suck

The virtual labs designed by vLAB Solutions at ITT Tech are horrible and they do not provide clear instructions for the students to learn. First they indicate for the "instructor" to present to the class on how to do the lab, but the teachers never have the correct labs or they are corrupt. As soon as the class can get the virtual labs up and running, the books are no help because they skip instructions. When I presented my concern to the associate dean, they indicated that people with PhD degrees design the books. Apparently they think that the students are supposed to know and understand everything that they do at their level, so they cut things out of the books that are essential to learning how to do the labs. ITT Tech needs to STOP USING VIRTUAL LABS ON HARD DRIVES and put them ONLINE! This is a joke and ITT was a HUGE mistake and a WASTE OF TIME

Itt Technical Institute - Corruption Schemes Review

ITT Columbia, SC campus is disgraceful! The "Managers" (when they actually show up to work) could care less about anyone or anything unless its going to get them start credit. The company is fraudulent. There has been so many lawsuits against the company and the campus that its down right comical. The place is a cesspool of corrupt managers who have no idea what a business model is. Blind leading the blind. I will keep this simple ( because I could go on for days on the lawsuits, infractions, complaints, threats, and lies that this particular campus adheres to on a daily basis)....looking to go to school??? Attend ANYWHERE but ITT! Especially ITT Columbia Campus 106. Be warned. There doors will be closed for good soon.
