ITT Technical Institute - Wrong#

I attended it Technical Institute at Angola court in Indianapolis Indiana in 2005. They received student loans for their services that I have to pay back, but I was not given the services I was promised. I don't feel I owe them anything. I only attended the school three (3) months. I want to dispute this debt and be cleared.

ITT Technical Institute - Do not go here!

Do not go to this school unless you want an useless piece of paper that no company want to accept. Check out our group in Facebook about the school and what we are doing to get our money back and for more info. The government is suing them, that should tell you enough. https://www.facebook.com/groups/ITTTechnicalInstituteLawsuitWarriors/ The school preys on low income families and they take out loans in different names if they have to to fund your "education". This company does not care about anyone. Their CEO just dump all their stocks and what was once a stock at $40 is now worth $3.00. Search more on it and you will see what I mean.

I did not go to ITT Tech but.... I know about these kinds of "colleges".

I just saw another one of their ads on television and how they get those "students" to do them, I don't know. Are these students clueless? Are they real former students? But I did attend one like this....very sad...

awful...they are cash cows. All they want is money. And who are the people who teach? And what about those people in the offices?

Do they not know what is going on?

How can they sleep at night?

ITT Technical Institute - Review

I am a student currently enrolled in ITT-Techs RN program and I must say that I am highly disappointed and disgruntled. The students are pretty much teaching themselves, and the work overload is based on cramming and dumping of information.... Not learning. I sat in a class where merely 75% of my class failed every test the teacher gave, and no we weren't offered any help, and nobody even loomed into as to why the whole class was failing. Yet somsomehow after failing EVERY exam, some students managed to PASS the class. So how much did they really learn? I learned nothing...was too busy trying to keep up in the 11 weeks that theysay we should know every bone in that is in our bodibodies and every muscle too! Not even possible in 11 weeks. Real nursing school isn't 11 weeks! I will graduate and know absolutely NOTHING! Wasting my money and time.

Reading beyond this point is an assumed agreement to the above terms*** If the current efforts have failed due to a lack of resources such as access to legal council of Attorney's knowledgeable in this subject area and a personal educational knowledge of law, FASFA, how funding processes work, and having clear examples that a Judge won't pass a motion for dismissal on out the gate then I maybe of some assistance if you care to read a theoretical thought on how to approach this with an example or 2 that may help and educate some individuals on things that would be needed to have a chance at success. Lets say the example is from the Chicago area and if you have detailed information do not continue to post it publicly as this is a basic example that may or may not be factual, but is not meant to represent any true statements. And you would not want to disclose information to the defense publically. Rather this is all a theoretical example and just an opinion on how to approach it not to be mistaken as legal advice or counsel as I am not an attorney and advise if you are taking this seriously to speak with your attorney or hire one 1st as if this were to go class action I wouldn't want to reveal everything to the defense on a public site allowing a corporation to prepare a defense, destroy/distort/lose, evidence, or contact past employee's that could be subpoenaed to testify in a court of law, but get tricked into some past bonus payment under the terms they sign a document that ends up being a nondisclosure agreement. This fictional post may or may not mean that we have some/all of the above already, if I were the type to very skeptical and learned early in life about keeping any contracts/documents that are considered important, but to make it a class action others would need the info as well. If there are several similar cases already gathered along with information of the specific programs that you were enrolled in aligning with programs of other students and these cases that would be used as evidence belonging to students that have exceptional character, prior GPA's, and successful track records in their career prior to attendance then there is a potential for Civil Cases possibly starting with a specific state if the resources are scattered until further publicity and evidence is obtained from publicity and other students coming forward who had not considered litigation to the point of researching it this could be feasible. Read on or contact me with an organized detail of the obtained information thus far as I may have the aptitude to determine further if this is worth presenting to friends in the legal profession and able to take it to the next level and put the case in the right department of a more than capable firm and with myself and another witness that would fit the bill initially for the state of IL specifically in the AS Computer Networking program as we both were in different years of the program and connected years later to both find out the same issues were encountered, the school itself doesn't even exist now, we also came from the same small hometown and the recruiter's name I still remember who was also related to friends in our town and lived there as well. I have detailed accounts and motives why the program/school failed to educate classes to the point that our final class for graduation students were unable to erase floppy disks and allowed to run to the store and purchase new ones for a file transfer and somehow passed with a degree! The motivations for the school were to move at a pace that wouldn't drop the majority of students as they were given full financial aid due to income and demographic factors which had the teacher been allowed to fail students and maintain a standard requirement for the students to pass the majority of guaranteed funding from the government money would have been taken away as the students would have lost the grants and the school would have had to gamble on the profits of paying or students getting loans to not continue dropping ITT entirely like 30% did by the end of 3 semesters knowing they wasted their money whereas someone like myself already in IT out of HS which I graduated with a 4.0 GPA and no issues with University acceptance and ended at ITT last minute and was definitely sold on a bunch of lies that I went with the career and classes at night while running a startup and felt after 10k already spent knowing the credits were *** after checking about transfers that I was better off just getting a piece of paper i.e. degree and being done with it since the staff let me come in for midterms and pre-take the final to catch their errors as it was a fairly new program. Fortunately my parents took my degree out of the garbage when I got it, but otherwise that's what I felt it was worth asides from 1 class, plus I tested out of the GE classes. Furthermore they had to pass the class a year ahead of ours before CNS would become an AS degree instead of a certificate program motivating them to push group 1 through along with not letting classes fail students that were being paid for and had to maintain grades to keep the full grants ultimately punishing the few who were there to learn and unfortunate enough to have to pay for the program themselves. It also helps our school doesn't even exists anymore, yet I was told we could go back and take any courses again if we ever needed updated training, which resurfaced my curiosity into this after not even being able to get transcripts to see if any credits would count towards starting over to obtain a MBA or Law degree when I noticed it was an absurd amount for the BS degree nearly 80k now I believe. The largest obstacle and opportunity would be if collectively we can come up with the original papers signed and information given when first "applying" and/or getting the names of your recruiters and classmates if you know for certain an above scenario applied in your situation as well with the funding and/or a majority percentage of your classmates could all testify to the same lack of education as I am willing to wager this would fall specific to certain programs, schools, and time ranges rather than universally as the programs developed, new legislation, and disclosures have hit their current system as a for profit school. This was all over the place intentionally from rearrangement and not wanting to go back and organize a fictional example that may not amount to anything. I am a ITT alumni. First of all let me start by saying this school is my biggest regret..

These people that sign you up are not enrollment counselor. They are predatory salesman taking advantage of any opportunity they can to boos their wallets.. I can not establish any type of credit and this school has re arranged my whole way of living. Buy a house is out the question..

I have a 2 year degree at which will now cost me 112k. I received the drafting degree. and the jobs at best were paying 15 bucks and hour for a drafting position..I had to remain in the same construction job which was the reason why I went back to school.. I would like to start a movement to shut this school down they will drive the economy down.

they prey on young gullible kids fresh out of high school such as myself. who haven't got the chance to wise up and mature a little to make a good financial decision.. Please Let's stop these people from damaging our future and some one else's future of the american dream.

ITT Technical Institute - Money and Reputation

First, I am 21 and was looking for a college. I went to ITT signed up to their roster, and was scheduled to come back next week to discuss financial aid. Asking simple questions, like what % of your graduates have found jobs?, kept using words like "few". They were genuinely suprised someone was asking questions, just basic things. Giving a tour of their "High-Tech" computer lab, which was a bunch of cheap desktops.. I don't just mean not high end.. these were literally Dell computers from 2002, with monitors worth less than 20 dollars each. Now I know you are probably thinking "Well it was probably the programs on them that are high-tech" No. Just no. All 2 of the people in their 3 computer labs looked desperate and sad. Didn't get the chance to talk with them but wish I did. I went to talk with the instructors, and asked a demonstration of software design, they each had a masters in it afterall. The only thing they could show me was a flow chart stating the name of each class. Which was already on a paper that they had given me. Well one day before I was supposed to come back to discuss financial aid, I had looked at some reviews, asked around and decided it would be a poor use of my money. So I called them up to say I would not be attending, but would still come the next day just to say in person. They actually got pissed off at me saying not to come because I would just take the "hard work" their financial division worked for and take it somewhere else. And was told to send in a formal email stating I would not attend. In this 4 sentence email I stated multiple times I would like my information stricken from the record, as well as confirmation that this was done. The reply I got was a 2 paragraph wall of text stating their disbelief that I was given false information, and that they were actually on the level. Not a single mention of anything besides their reputation or money seemed to matter to them. To anyone checking that school out, ask them about their reputation... then an hour later when they finish, ask them about finding a job with the degree, and after you get the runaround, ask them about the prices (No doubt they already told you). Beware of trigger words "Few" "High-Tech" "I was like you" "Wouldn't be here today" "You are smart" "I would do it"

ITT Technical Institute - ITT-Tech I HATE EVERY ONE OF YOU CORPORATE PIGS!

I attended ITT-Tech for the last 2 years in pursuit of my A.S. in drafting using the Post 9/11 G.I. Bill, a couple of Grants.....And like $30,000 in Federal student loans that the school conveniently applied for on my behalf. Until this quarter.... WITH 81 credit hours, a 3.4 gpa, and one quarter left to finish my degree, THEY DROPPED ME FROM THE PROGRAM... because of some obscure state law and/or their dirty corporate policies, Also I can NOT re-enroll at ANY ITT-TECH...EVER! My last financial aid statement showed a zero balance owed to the school! Now they won't release my transcripts until I have paid my balance??? Of $750.... (A great way to stop their victims from enrolling with the competition). I'M 32 years old and A COMBAT VETERAN! Plus I'm out of G.I. BILL. BASICALLY, I'll spend my whole life below the poverty line...

Sounds like business as usual from the usual gang of greedy, idiotic, corporate ITT thugs! They are the lowest of the low and are capable of ANYTHING. Especially if they think you are spilling the beans about all their criminal business practices.

@Xcorgi

Thank you for your service. However, I highly doubt the school dropped you for purposes of "greed".

And if you truly had Post 911 GI educational benefits, you would not have applied for federal student loans; any federal student grants would have been gift aid. You, not the school, applied for federal financial aid.

There is full disclosure at every step of the process in admissions and enrollment. Be mad all you want, but if you are truly the warrior referenced as a military combat veteran, then tell the truth.

ITT Technical Institute - A Mixed Bag Experience

My overall experience with this business was mixed. I would recommend that a person, who wishes to achieve a degree, to seek it out from an accredited university or community college. If one wishes to acquire, on the job skills, as in trade work. Then this business might be worth your attention. Even then I would only recommend that one considers this business for training if they are seeking a Technology focused job. I completed the course work for a bachelors program for Information Security Systems at the Troy, MI campus in 2011. During that time have observed much of ITT’s operation and have criticisms and compliments. When I first enrolled I was not seeking a degree but rather to acquire technical skills that would improve my knowledge of IT/IS. That I did do. But many other students there had the expectation that a “degree” earned there would guarantee a rewarding career. I believe many others were misled by the sales pitch provided to them by the recruiting staff, that this would be the case. Likewise, the enrollment process featured, what was termed as an “Entrance Exam” which was in actuality a simple series of problem solving questions. The questions were terribly easy and I believe meant to boost the confidence of applicants so that they would be more likely to agree to enrolment terms. This gives way to my next criticism. The poor student body which is made up of people who do not take work seriously, in that the serious students are far outnumbered by the not serious ones. The same people who leave ITT with substandard skills, leave bad impressions on prospective employers, and make it difficult for the serious ones to find work. The cost of these courses, though it has beneficial information, is ruinously expensive. I have earned one of their bachelor’s degrees and am in debt over 60K. Thankfully institution from which I borrowed has a professional staff and is offering assistance with my loan payments. The instructors ran the gambit from highly knowledgeable and professional (at least in the IT course) to absolutely feckless. Thankfully the IT instructors were highly knowledgeable professionals. The lab work offered was the most beneficial. The equipment at my school, though in short supply, was in good working order and helped me to develop skills that I use in my current line of work. The career services were likewise helpful. These ones helped me to construct my resume and find work within my field. The only true advantage I would say that this business has over a community college is the faced paced, and focused, curriculum, which surpassed my experience at Community College, which had a confusing curriculum map and left enrollment entirely up to the students. In closing, this business did help me to acquire trade skills and did better my knowledge of Computer Networked systems and is the same knowledge which I used to acquire my industry certifications. They assisted me with resume creation and job placement in my field. However, consider that this is a business whose main concern is getting bodies in their class seats. There are almost no enrollment requirements or restrictions. So expect a mob of people claiming to be students. The expense for these courses are comparatively high. If you are interested with learning a trade then stick to the Associates program. Only then focus on the courses for which ITT Tech is best known. That is Computer Networking, Media design, Drafting and electronics. The other courses are expansions meant to draw in more customers. As for me the whole experience was somewhat beneficial, but I have made the decision, that once my debt is in control, to seek out a degree back at the community college.

Dont work or Attend College at ITT Technical Institute

First the College is way over priced. It cost around $45,000 for a two year degree. Over $80,00 for a BA Degree if they offer the program. They get students into school and tell them that it takes 1 year 9 months to get your degree, then not offer certain classes and the students have to stay longer. second too work at ITT Tech is a big lie, they get the new leads for students who dont even want to attend college and make the reps call them 3 to 5 times a day. It irratates everyone involved. The Director and the Director of recruting lie about the leads and fail to inform all reps about new procedures. Then later blame the reps for not doing their job, If a rep does his/her job above and beyond expectations, they still get punished. DONT WORK OR ATTEND COLLEGE THEIR, HENDERSON. NV CAMPUS....

When my son was a junior in high school, about 3 years ago now they took a field trip to the one in Orlando. He was in the Academy of Technology and Robotics there, and the lerning was all hands on, and what they couldn't do that way was all on computer.

Several students from other schools were there asking questions that the "professor" either could not answer or answered incorrectly, my son and his classmates finally got tired of it and started answering the question for him.

When they broke down into groups in different rooms, the other students did not go to the instructor in that room, but to one of them. Yay AITR!!!!

My son had a better education already than people that were supposed to be teaching others.
